You are loved more than you know
Prana can only focus on one sense at a time
Yogis have known for centuries that there is no such thing as multitasking. In yoga, our ability to see, touch, taste, hear, or smell gives rise to the Mahabhuta, which represents the material world as we know it. While these senses are present, the source that breathes life into them is our basic life force—Prana, Chi, or Qi.
This Prana can only focus on one sense at a time. Essentially, this means that while you are feeling, you cannot see, and while you are seeing, you cannot hear. Only one faculty is active at any given moment. Because Prana moves faster than we can perceive, we often miss much of what is happening around us.
This is one of the reasons we fail to realize that we are always loved more than we are aware of.
Your presence makes a difference
You might not notice it, but your presence brings hope and joy to someone, even if you haven’t spoken or interacted with them. Your light, your smile, or your voice might brighten someone’s day, even if only for a moment.
Someone might feel warmth in their heart just by thinking about you. You may not realize it, but there is someone looking forward to chatting with you or simply seeing you. They might even feel a bit blue because you couldn’t be there. Yet, when you appear, it’s like a thousand flowers bloom in their heart.
Someone is missing you and loving you, even when you’re not around. This includes those who haven’t spoken to you or seen you in years.
Celebrating existence
This new year is about recognizing that, even if you don’t have the best opinion of yourself, you are an essential light in this universe. Your presence is something the world looks forward to every day, to experience a new version of you and celebrate your existence.
Wishing you a happy new year. May you come to realize that you are beautiful, you are important, and you are the missing piece of the puzzle that completes the dance of existence.
