Celebrating Life
A small late-autumn retreat in the Bavarian Alps
11–15 November 2026 · Oberstdorf, Germany
Four nights to step out of the usual rhythm.
To practise. Walk. Dance. Sing. Laugh. Talk. Rest. Maybe swim.
And to spend a little time remembering how much life is already here.

Come into the mountains with us
In November, the mountains become quieter.
The summer visitors have gone, the air becomes clear and cold, the forests change, and life begins to move at a different pace.
We will spend four nights together in a small retreat house above Oberstdorf, surrounded by forest, meadows and a crystal-clear mountain lake.
It is not a polished wellness hotel. It is simple, warm and personal. The kind of place where you can arrive, put your bag down, breathe out and very quickly stop needing so much.
This will be our first retreat here: a small gathering guided by Sanjeev, with a small group - almost like a family holiday. We want to discover the place and enjoy being there together.

What will we do?
There will be practice, but this is not a training.
There is nothing to pass, complete or become good at.
Some mornings may begin quietly with meditation, movement and pranayama.
We will walk, breathe fresh mountain air. We may talk around the table for much longer than planned. Sit beside the lake and fireplace in the evening. Laugh until something hurts. Those who are brave enough may even swim.
There will be time together and time alone. Practice. Dance. Sing. Laugh. Swim. Talk. Walk. Eat. Rest.
And see what happens when life has a little more room.

What does it mean to celebrate life?
Life is capable of more than survival and achievement. Yet somewhere along the way, many of us start measuring a good life by what we have, how others see us, how comfortable we feel, or how closely our life resembles the lives we admire.
There is another kind of luxury. One that cannot be bought.
A deeply personal experience of being so present in your own life that ordinary things begin to regain their intensity.
Food tastes better. Colours become richer. A ridiculous joke becomes genuinely funny. Music enters the body. Walking can feel almost like dancing. You become interested again.
Not because everything in your life has suddenly become perfect, but because you are there for it. This is the kind of luxury and romance we want to explore during these days. Not romance with another person. Romance with being alive.
